Yoga and Qigong

On Saturday – Monday mornings in our Wellbeing area, we will be hosting early morning Yoga classes and Qigong classes with experienced and passionate teachers.

Hatha
‘Yoga is an effortless dance with breath and gravity’ (Vanda Scaravelli). These classes are suitable for all ages and abilities. Asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and relaxation techniques will be combined to improve strength and flexibility, relax the body and calm the mind, leaving students feeling refreshed, inspired and relaxed.

Vajrasati Yoga
These classes integrate movement, breath, philosophy and humour in a way that leaves you feeling lighter, refreshed and revitalised.
Interwoven into the fabric of the asanas is the spirit of the yoga movement. The central premise embodied in the word yoga itself; that the isolation of breath, body, mind, heart, energy is simply a convention that covers a more obvious truth – that each of these elements are inseparable parts of one whole experience that has at its heart freedom, joy, wisdom, and bliss.

Qigong
Qigong, qi gong, chi kung, or chi gung is a system of coordinated body-posture and movement, breathing, and meditation used for the purposes of health, spirituality, and martial-arts training.
